According to Kant, if a statement is analytic, then it is true by definition. Another way to look at it is to say that if the negation of a statement results in a contradiction or inconsistency, then the original statement must be an analytic truth. Examples include: Bachelors are unmarried. Daisies are flowers.
Examples of analytic statements. Analytic statements are true via the nature of their meaning. So, really there isn’t much, if anything, beyond the idea of “true by definition”. The idea of analytic statements is that the predicate in the subject predicate pair is contained within the subject.

An analytic statement is knowable (either true or false) without reference to the world. You know it in your head (a priori) and no observation is necessary. Example: All brothers are male siblings. We know this statement is true because the definition of brothers is male siblings. It is true by definition.
Two halves make up a whole. No additional meaning or knowledge is contained in the predicate that is not already given in the subject. Analytic sentences are redundant statements whose clarification relies entirely on definition. Analytic sentences tell us about logic and about language use. They do not give meaningful information about the world.
Analyticity, a property of statements. No account of analyticity which explains it in terms of what is the case with regard to sentences in any one language will do. If someone who says “All bodies are extended” makes an analytic statement, so will anyone who says the same thing in any other language.

A more cautious, epistemological characterization is that analytic sentences are those whose truth can be known merely by knowing the meanings of the constituent terms,
Analytic statements are propositions where the predicate is inherent to the subject (All rectangles have four sidesrectangles are defined by having four sides), where synthetic statements, well, don’t.
